The topic page for "Cooking Feasts" has been revised. "How to Plan a Potluck Feast" has been moved to its own subpage.
Tonight we held an esbat in the ritual meadow. We built a bonfire. (Note to self: select a fire-poking stick while building the bonfire, and before full dark.) For this we pulled dead field weeds out of the prairie meadow and other places; they burn nicely, and their removal will make mowing easier.
The bonfire was a bit slow to light, but better than last time. Once it was lit, it flared up We used a different structure of ritual than usual, and more free-form. For instance, we all walked around the circle to call Quarters. Most of the ritual consisted of a guided meditation. The full moon was very bright and clear. Today I revised the "Activities" page. I also moved "PVC Drum-making Workshop" to the "Crafts" section.
The "Essays & Articles" section has a new article, "Magical Safety & Skill Development." This offers a basic introduction to protection and purification magic.
There have also been minor revisions to the "Home" tab and some of its subpages. The "About Us" menu has been reorganized for more convenient browsing, and the page revised. A couple of items have been renamed: "Points of Interest" (the bullet list piece) is now "Highlights: Greenhaven in Brief" and "Greenhaven Tradition" (the big description) is now "Floodlights: Greenhaven in Depth."
There is also a new item in the "Essays & Articles" section, "Magic in Animated Movies." For a list of bullet points summarizing our practices, see "Points of Interest" under the "Home" tab.
There is a new entry on the "Recommended Reading Lists" page, dealing with "Empathy in Fiction."
I've done a bit of reorganization and revision on "Greenhaven Tradition." The list of "Things We Don't Do" has been moved to the bottom of the page, so that the top has a more positive focus to catch and hold people's attention.
Also "Memories of Samhain 2004" has been revised. |
